FAll 2010 Season Summary

•     The full season starts Saturday, September 18th for Mini-Strikers, Clinic, Juniors, Seniors and Intramural Rec games.  County (AAYSL) games are expected to start on 11 September.  All Rec teams may begin practicing after Back to Soccer Day on September 11th.
  
•    Costs are $70 per player to register for both ASA Rec and County.  Rec registration includes cost of uniform, which you keep.  A $10 Club dues is required per family each season, not per player.  Travel registration is worked entirely through teams and is partly based on league, club and state fees as appropriate.
  
•    Practices for Rec teams are generally on M/W or T/TH schedules and are decided by the teams.  You may request to avoid a specific day if there is a conflict.  Practices for County teams are set by the team.  Practice times generally start around 5:30 but are determined by coaches of each team.  Locations generally are in the Odenton area, but some teams may request Millersville, Crofton or other nearby locations.  Rec practices can begin after 11 September, as weather permits.
  
•   Walk-up registrations will be held in the Odenton area on:
       Saturday, 19 June, Arundel HS Field, 6 to 8 PM
       Friday, 9 July, Arundel HS, 6 to 8 PM
       Saturday, 7 August, Waugh Chapel Elementary, 10AM to Noon
      Friday, 3 September, Waugh Chapel Elementary, 6 to 8 PM
  
•    The Mini-Striker U4 program will practice T/TH in the Odenton area at approximately 5:30.
  
•    The last day of Rec games is Saturday, November 6th.
  
•    Uniforms are included in the cost of all Rec program ages.  County uniforms are purchased through the team.
     
• The basic coaching courses are held periodically in the area and listed at www.msysa.org under coaches education.  ASA desires all coaches to be licensed if coaching for more than one season and requires licensing for ALL county and travel coaches.  Maryland requires and "E" license for all travel coaches.  ASA also uses NSCAA courses and provides information for these when available.  ASA pays for all coach licensing courses upon completion.
   
•    The Back to Soccer Day will be on Saturday, September 11th at Arundel Middle School.  Time will be announced.  This is a chance for kids and parents to meet coaches and their teammates, and to get organized for the season.  If you can not attend this meeting, coaches receive rosters at this time and begin contacting families over the next few days after the meeting.
  
•   All registered families with current email addresses will receive email with updates regarding the season near the end of August.
  
•   County registrations should be made as soon as possible.  Registration does not guarantee team placement, as teams must have available space to add any new players.  Please see the ASA tryouts page and Teams Page or contact John Ouellette, the ASA County Commissioner for information on available teams.  If registrations are made before 2 August, ASA will work to create new county teams to meet demand if existing teams in age group are full.
  
•   Rec Games:  All Rec program games are at Arundel Middle School unless otherwise noted.  All games are played Saturday mornings starting at 9AM.
  
•   County Games:  Most county league games will be Saturdays during Fall 2010, unless otherwise noted by schedules.  Some age groups may vary.  County games are played at an even number of "home" and "away" fields around AA county.
  
•   Travel:  All travel team player selctions and practices are determined by teams, subject to field availability.  Game schedules are determined by the appropriate leagues.
